photobooth friday

From last Friday. And here's one from today. Happy photobooth Friday!

photobooth friday

Lately my independent girl has been clingy.  She wants to be held a lot.  She has started crying when I leave her.   It is such a contrast to her "normal" personality.   I can clearly see she is pulling out the stops for my attention.

Today we spent a little one-on-one time together.  I realized it's only the second time since Elly was born that Canon and I have had time to ourselves.  I even got a little emotional over our Cici's pizza because I was reminded what a cool little person she is and how much I really love being with her.

And now I'm off to New York.  I know I'll have a wonderful time, but I also know I'll be really glad to get home to my guy and my girls.

By the way...the kiss was totally Canon's idea.  {sigh}

photobooth friday

Cute little girls. They are going to be friends for a very long time, they just don't realize it quite yet. One huge positive about living in my hometown is getting to spend tons of time with my best friend and her daughter while they home for the holidays.

Sorry my posts have been so sporadic lately. I've actually been abnormally busy. But no worries...months of boredom and plenty to say just ahead. I'm sure you can hardly wait!

sketchy territory

The Foto Cube booth was broken, so we had to settle for the Artist Sketch booth. Ugh. An automated voice who called himself Rembrandt "sketched" their portrait. He even made a few mistakes in the process, but whipped out his handy-dandy eraser to remove blemishes from the masterpiece. It doesn't get much more pathetic than this, but I had promised.

The readjustment period back into home life is always pretty rough for Canon (and me). Today was especially hard. While I was changing Elly's diaper, Canon managed to color on the walls and carpet with an orange marker, shake a two liter Coke and then throw it on the floor, and strip the blankets off my bed. Alex and I then made the mistake of going out to dinner tonight; it was embarrassing. It's heart-breaking to look in her eyes and not be able to find my sweet little girl.

Also today, I realized Canon has been apart from me nearly a month so far this year. Twenty-five percent of this year she has been away from home. It's hard to define how this makes me feel. On one hand, I truly treasure my alone time with Elly. But on the other hand, I can't believe how much my toddler is existing apart from me.

I'm hoping to feel better when I wake up in the morning. And when I walk upstairs and open Canon's bedroom door, I hope my sweet little girl is there waiting to tell me she took a good nap.

friday fun

Get out your party hats; we've gone digital. The camera fairy has loaned me a digital Canon Rebel for a few weeks. So...the girls and I turned our half bathroom into a photobooth today.

friday fun

I thought the photobooth might be a little empty today without Canon, but it ended up being jammed full. Old friends, young children and good fun. I have such a wonderful time when my friends come "home."

friday fun

Since I already admitted in a previous post that we haven't found a genuine photobooth, I completely dropped the charade this week. I left the pictures in a horizontal row (which is necessary to fold into the Fotocube.)

I was a little concerned today might turn out rotten. I spent 30 minutes rummaging through my closet looking for something to wear. I emerged wearing my "favorite" maternity top. (And it's not a "barely pregnant" shirt...it's the one I wore to the hospital the day Elly was born.) It took longer than it should have for me to realize wearing maternity clothes is not a good idea.

But things are good now. One sister is here. One sister on her way. Yay!

the truth

I'm so ashamed. It's phony...it's fake...it's a crappy digital photobooth. I live in Suburbia. And though I am desperately searching for a genuine photobooth, I have resorted to using the one at our local mall. Worse than that....it doesn't even give you a strip of pictures; it gives you a cube. That's right, folks, it's the Foto Cube. Because who would want a flat strip of pictures when you can have a cube of them to place on your....desk/night stand/book shelf/tv/head? I'm so embarrassed.

Somehow we still managed to have a good time. Alex joined us in the booth and we even got a smile out of Elly. Fake photobooth; real fun had by all.

friday fun

Our very first Photobooth Friday was lots of fun. Our day so far has been ridiculous, silly fun. Canon and I discovered that practicing our fake sneezes makes Elly laugh. Ah...ah....ah...choooooo!

(Definitely not confident enough to submit to hula seventy yet, but I do want to give her credit for the idea.)
