little bits of unexpectedness

After a very rambunctious, floor-jarring, wall-banging nap time, I went to her room to free her. I couldn't find her anywhere. I considered that she might have escaped. But in the moment I took to pause and think, I heard a soft snore. I looked under the bed. When I didn't see her there, I followed the sound. I opened the bottom of her bookcase just a bit and there she was. Sound asleep. Without even enough room to stretch out her legs. And wearing her winter coat.

I love the unexpected things my girls say and do and feel. It adds a little extra whimsy. And my life was in need of a bit of whimsy.
