that feeling

This morning at breakfast it hit me again. The feeling I get when my body, my heart and my soul suddenly appreciate how happy I am. My heart swells inside my chest stopping just short of an explosion. It seems I couldn't cram any more wonderfulness inside and thus I realize it must be nearly impossible to be happier. (That...or the caffeine from my coffee finally made its way through my bloodstream. But I'll stick with the more romantic explanation.)

Sometimes I have to step outside the box to realize how perfect everything inside the box truly is. This weekend Alex and I went to a lake party for adults. The weather was perfect. We sat on the dock with our feet propped up and looked out on the water as we sipped beer. It was nice. But after just a couple hours we said our goodbyes and raced home, hoping we might catch the girls before they were tucked in their beds.

As I drank my coffee today, I looked into the faces of my family. Each pair of eyes shining with happiness and love. And I realized I wouldn't change a single thing. I couldn't be happier.

That's the best feeling in the world!

I couldn't be happier that your happy. I know that's corny, but when your best friend is happy, it just makes the world seem a better place.

Love you.
