Visiting my best friend and her daughter was the main reason for our trip. Canon and I went to their home in New Jersey and then the four of us packed up and headed into New York for sightseeing and slumber partying. Having little girls in tow introduced me to a side of the city I knew existed, but had never ventured into before. A side where there are animated movies in 3D, zoos, children's museums, toy stores and 8:00 curfews. I don't think I even took a glimpse into the New York I used to know. But being there and sharing experiences with my daughter, my best friend and her daughter was absolutely priceless.
Canon was pretty unimpressed by the grandeur of the city. And I have no doubt her most vivid memory of the trip will be of the cockroach scurrying across our breakfast table and then jumping into my bag just moments before we decided to find somewhere else to dine.

It's so funny you write of seeing a different side to New York. My brother just babysat his daughter while her moms went on vacation. And I'm not sure he's used to the side of Brooklyn he saw while they were gone! Glad, though, you got to spend some time with your bestie!
oh that looks like so much fun!!! I especially love the photos of the girls in the window.
so precious, I also love the photo of the little girls in the window.
We had a fabulous time with you and Canon. It was a magical girls weekend. Thank you for an awesome time.
