So...I failed this month's challenge. Whatever.

I've decided it's time to get back in shape. This summer I've been pretty slack. To give myself something to work toward, I'm considering running a 5K at the end of August. I guess you could say I'm 'training' for it now. But I use the word 'training' VERY loosely. My goal is to cross the finish line....without the aid of emergency workers....and before they open the road back up to traffic. So...on the days I don't have yoga, I run on the treadmill. I spend the entire time just trying not to pee on myself. It makes me really wish that I had been doing those damn kegel exercises in the nearly TWO YEARS since my baby was born. All of the sudden I am reminded that having babies really

In case you are wondering...yes I do have PMS.

A mom with no skills, that pretty much sums up exactly how I feel. Good luck on the marathon, and for the record, I thought you looked GREAT when I was out visiting. Don't be so hard on yourself:)
Love,
Danika
Thanks for the forewarning on the Kegal exercises.
Girl, you got mad skillz! Actually I only wanted to type "skillz" with a "z." Because I'm so street.
Love,
Your fellow kegel slacker.
All I can say is I hope you don't sneeze, while you are on the treadmill, or there may be a prob. OOPs!, laughed to hard, just peed! Have a good week!
man. you and your friends are old talking about kegel excercises after child birth...totally awesome :)
ha, i was totally telling myself the other day that I should be doing more kegals...glad to know i'm not the only one that has difficulty not peeing on myself :). Good luck with the 5K training...you will rock it :).
Man, good thing I had a C-section, huh.
Anyway, Christy, it doesn't matter if you think you have "skillz" or not (which you do, btw). Just be grateful every second of every day you get to stay home with your kids. I have to work a full-time job, which keeps me away from my sweet one 4+ days a week. I'd give anything to be an unskilled SAHM. Count your blessings :)
My dear friend. You have too many skills to list, but one of my favorites is your ability to be an awesome friend. By the way, I feel the same way that you do. Being a stay at home mom has a way of sucking out every last bit of intellectual thought left in your brain. While it's such a gift to be able to have this time with our kids, it doesn't mean we can't grieve for the loss of our professional life.
P.S. I agree with Danika, you look GREAT, so no worries about the after-kids body. I hope I look as good as you when I done having kids one day.
P.P.S. Good luck with the training.
Every now and then I read your post just to keep up w/ how things are going for you. :) I have to say that you are skilled. You are a very gifted writer and photographer. I can tell that just by browsing through your blog. :)I am not a mom yet so I can't say that I understand how that might be yet, but I am sure that it is a different world. I just can tell you that you definitely have skills
