update

Just want to send out a big THANK YOU to everyone who left a kind comment about Elly's accident.  I also want to post a quick update. Above is a picture of her new look.  The pediatric dentist put a little filling on one tooth to protect the nerve and smooth everything out a bit.  It was quick and totally painless, but I wouldn't really know because I was left to sob alone in the waiting room while my girl was strapped onto the table (not because she was uncooperative, but because of her age.)  There is always the option to do something a little more drastic to fix the look of her teeth, but it would be much more involved....and painful.  So for now, I think we will just leave things as they are.

And since everything is about me, I learned quite a bit about myself as a mother through this ordeal.  More on that later.

Every single picture I've seen of Elly since the accident - she's smiling. So, regardless of how terrible you feel, remind yourself she's still a happy (and adorable) little kid!

Definitely cute! I think the teeth look great. Glad this ordeal is over for you.

Give Elly a kiss from me.

The teeth look great. You can't even tell there's something different unless you point it out.

wow! I am just catching up..I am so glad she's ok. I know all about those "I am a horrible mother" feelings, this 2 year old & newborn stuff is hard. I always feel like one of them is getting the shaft. Miss you!

I think the dentist did a great job, and by the look on her face, she seems pleased with the results as well!

She looks great. And oblivious to the whole thing!
