it's over

My freelance job wrapped up last night at an event full of black ties and evening gowns. I had much more responsibility and pressure than I am comfortable with. VIPs and sports superstars were in attendance. And I tried to completely put out of my mind that national media would be interested in our event.

I woke up this morning with a bit of a hangover. I think it was just from the work, stress and anxiety. And then I cried. Part of it was a release of all that had been hanging over my head. But the other part was relief and happiness that I am back to being a 100% stay-at-home mom. Some days I take it for granted. Some days are even worse, and I wish the hours away. But this freelance job made me realize how much I love being with the girls. And how lucky I am to be staying at home with them right now.

Today it was as if someone flipped my holiday switch. I have creative energy to spare and I'm ready to start rockin' out the Christmas spirit.

Well, my "real" tree still isn't up. Why don't you bring your Christmas spirit on over to my house and help me put this dang thing up!
