I recently stumbled upon this sketch. I had only been in New York a couple weeks when Alex drew this. At that time he was still leading me by hand, introducing me to all the things he had discovered the month he spent in the city before I arrived. And I followed his lead, wide-eyed and falling ever more in love with the city and with him. The night he drew this, we had spent a long Sunday playing and exploring. It was time for us to go our separate ways. Me, downtown. Him, uptown. We said our goodnights and then descended into the ground to await our trains. And there we were, staring at each other across the platform. We were too far apart to speak, but Alex opened up his sketch pad. My train came first and I waived goodbye.
I know it's simple and rough, but it's one of my very favorites.

That's pretty cool.
Show this to your girls! Even if you don't have many photos, you have some very special artwork done by your talented hubby!
I love the way you guys express yourselves so freely! I am about to create some paintings to hang in our bedroom- it's a little scary but fun! I finally posted pics- hope you like them.
