first day: preschool style

Since my freelance job is gearing up again, Elly is going to preschool a couple days a week so I can get some work done. Today was her first day. She loved school. She was most excited about eating out of her lunchbox.

I had grand plans of running errands, sipping coffee and shopping for business clothes, but instead I spent my free day on the couch with a migraine. Apparently every time I cry now, I end up vomiting thanks to a splitting headache. I'm just thankful I didn't have this problem during my hormonal teenage years.

Anyway...Elly's teacher sent out a little information email. I noticed on her class calendar that Elly's day for show-and-tell is Thursdays. Just the idea of her (or any two-year-old, for that matter) presenting something to the class for show-and-tell has been a constant source of amusement around our house. I would love to be a fly on the wall for that one.

Yikes...your headaches sound horriblel! Two-year old show-n-tell...that does sound delightful and hilarious all at the same time :). You should have Elly bring YOU as her thing to show off...then you can report back and tell us what it was like! (grin)

It's so touching that you love your girls as hard and furiously as you do. But, don't make yourself sick over it, m'kay? xoxo

Elly looks so nonchalant about her first day, like "yeah, I'm a big girl going to school. So what?" I love her little faces.

By the way, is that a skirt I see on Canon? Very cute!

Hope you are feeling better and that the tears will stop for a while so that you have a break from the headaches.

i have been lucky enough to be a fly on the wall during two year old show & tell, and it's rather amusing. most of the kids don't say much, just nodding when the teacher sparks up conversation about the item of choice. what i like most of all is the dedication one so young has in picking the perfect show item. here's a tip: pick the item out the night before school so you aren't frantically looking for a specific toy the morning of the event!
