Her favorite gift from Christmas was the mouthwash Santa tucked into her stocking. (That guy...he's so concerned with dental hygiene.) Then this week I surprised her with new sheets for her bed. She had been sleeping on hand-me-down sheets from my sister's college days. So I bought her a polka dot set that matches her quilt. When she discovered the new bedding, she went into a state of euphoria. She jumped up and down, shouting about how happy she was and how beautiful her room is. The girl was blissed out, completely and totally happy. She kept saying, "I knew this would happen. I knew this would happen."
I'm always so struck by the simplicity of her desires. It doesn't take much to make her happy. I am fully aware that each year the things she wants will become grander...and more expensive, but right now it's the small things. She seems to appreciate simple luxuries. And it has me thinking about my own desires. Which is why I'm joining curious girl in NaBloPoMo. The theme for February is "want." I'm always using my freelance work as an excuse for not participating in November, so I'll give February a whirl. It is a short month after all.

That's so sweet. I love the innocence of childhood. Bella is tickled pink with a tube of chapped stick and lotion. She also recently got a sheet set with snowmen on them and, like Canon, she jumped up and down in ecstasy over them.
Don't you just love our girls?
Give Canon a kiss from me.
Nice picture, I like the perspective of the sheet with her in the distance. She's beautiful.
I'm excited to read your thoughts this month...it's sure to be good :). Canon's excitement over the sheets is adorable...what a sweetheart :).
Too SWEET:)
