In attempt to get an early glimpse of my nephew, I left the girls with Alex for the weekend and headed to Virginia. (I had to return home before Caleb arrived, missing him by just a few hours.) I'm always so curious what goes on at my house when I'm away. There's a little bit of mystery when I return home. Things are out of place. Some things are missing, likely never to be found again. Normally I possess the maternal superpower of always knowing where everything is. But when I've been away, my instinct is off. Readjusting to my own home is a bit intriguing. This time I opened the pantry and noticed we didn't have toilet paper. Odd. I could have sworn I had just bought a jumbo pack. Twelve rolls. Where could they have gone? And then I remembered seeing tiny bits of paper scattered around the house. I asked Alex what happened to the toilet paper. Not wanting to implicate himself, he told me to ask Elly. Hmm. So apparently Elly had some fun with toilet paper. Still...one roll I could understand, but what in the world could she have done that involved TWELVE rolls of paper. I've decided to leave that a mystery. Just one of the many strange things that happens when I'm not home.
I'll stick with just being thankful for my time away and happy everyone survived (even though there was some story about Elly locking Canon and a friend out on our second-story balcony, but I'm totally ignoring that one).

Funny! Our TP goes quite quickly too. Fen regularly takes long swaths of it and tells me she's making "snakes". Something about pulling it off the roll just gives our little people an intense pleasure!
totally played mummy while mommy was away.
xoxo
Knew it had to be the little rascal, Elly. She's going to give you a run for your money!
Glad everyone was in one piece when you got home, even if your house wasn't.
Love you!
Your glimpse into your own home after returning from a trip is kinda how I feel when I see my friends' parenting styles. It's not always the way I'd do it personally, but the kids are fine, well-adjusted and happy. Glad to hear everyone survived and yay for Lauren!
That's funny! Randy does a good job at making sure the house looks back to normal before I get home so I won't ask questions!
When I am gone, I come home, it looks like a bomb went off. At least you could walk thru your house. And for some reason out TP purchasing seems to have more than doubled. Maybe feed it to someone or something!!??
