I probably love the fair mostly because I was never allowed to go as a child. Alex and I don't let the girls on any of the rides, but we do love the food, animals and atmosphere.Nursing piglets born just the day before. Miniature donkey foals chasing each other. Ducklings slipping down a tiny slide. Eggs hatching right before our eyes. And my cute little family sharing a funnel cake...and an evening together.

Yeah...her allergies are acting up and she had a full on snotty nose. It's usually the only time I can convince her to let me braid her hair...to keep it from blowing into her snot. Yep...that's how we roll.
fun! we almost stopped on the way home from charlotte, but it got too late. glad you got to enjoy it. I love a fair.

The fair was a huge thing to me as a kid- sad, I know, but I have tons of great fair memories! I miss that my kids don't get to enjoy it anymore!
Well, Justin... I can answer your question. The CC fair is over priced and full of greasy food and sketchy rides put together my half-drunk carnies... not to mention the skanks that operate the rides. I was in the fun house one year and there was this part where air would blow up from the floor. The dude operating the machine blew the air so he could see up my shirt. Nice. Then there's the general riff-raff that always seem attracted to fair type events. Not the best environment for young girls probably.
Aside from all of that, I went to the fair every year... and loved it. What can I say? It's the fair. It's skank... but it's totally awesome!!!
Man, I love the fair! I can't wait for it to come to Stanly COunty. One more week!
Jenny - Got it. Never was much of a County Fair person, but that makes sense.
It's been so long since I've been, and I have yet to go to the new fair grounds...I hear they are much nicer. We keep saying we'll go, but just haven't yet. Maybe next year.
