real life

A little over a year ago when I started this blog, I didn't know anyone who blogged.  There was an old acquaintance, but no one I knew personally.  I started lurking around at strangers' blogs, hardly ever leaving a comment.  And then in the matter of a month or so, friends from all over were starting up blogs.  My social blogging circle suddenly became filled with friends.  But I still felt intimidated and insecure to comment on a stranger's site.

Through Self Portrait Challenge, I met Nicole of Sometimes Everything Girl,   She sent me a beautiful Valentine's Day Card..in the mail.  It's my first blog to real life connection and I am so excited.

I've been a bit jealous of my girl Nilsa who has jumped whole-heartedly into the blog social scene.  She has even met (in person) some of the people she first connected with through the internet. Having a tangible connection with Nicole makes me feel like I'm ready to get out in the scene.  Meet some new people.  So many interesting people, just a click away.  There's a whole world out there.

By the way, Nicole has an a very cool Etsy shop where she sells her beautiful photographs.  Thanks, Nicole.  I love, love, love my card.  I personally think I got the best one!

I didn't even know what a blog was until you. You have opened up a new addiction for me. Thank you! I think it is so cool to catch up with so many people and blogstalk others. I love all the crafty blogs and yours is so beautiful and full of life, that you encourage me each day. . . So please don't ever stop.

No need to be jealous of me. While I was never intimidated to comment on strangers' blogs, it was very intimidating meeting some of the bloggers in person. What if I don't like them as much as I like their blog? Unfortunately, that has become a reality, but it's more than made up by meeting bloggers I really do like. Plus, if it weren't for you, I might never have discovered this whole world of blogging!

I jump to your blog all the time from Jenny Hite's blog (she is a close family friend). I have met you in person before but it has been a long time ago. I've felt weird about commenting but your blog is beautiful and always so interesting.

I have really enjoyed your blog and because of you... my own. There is a connection when reading other's blogs. I find myself talking about it and the writers with my husband, family and friends. It's strange to think of people whom I never talk to as friends but in the blog world, I think friendly of them.
Because you put so much out there it's only normal that friends will come of it.
