Today when I was running on the treadmill, I realized my iPod needs serious help. I have lots of good music on there, but few songs truly qualify for the workout playlist. I'm trying to get serious about working out, and uninspiring music is my latest excuse.
So...I need your help. I'm looking for songs that are fun to workout to. Songs that when you hear 45 minutes into a run, make you want to kick up the speed on your treadmill and run a little faster.
And don't hold back. I know workout music can sometimes be a bit cheesy, but I don't care. I really need some musical motivation.

i think you need the rocky theme song from the original movie (where he is running up the stairs and pumping his fists in the air).
in that same mode of thinking, "the eye of the tiger", which was made for Rocky III is a classic song that makes you want to work hard.
both also qualify as very cheesy.
I'm thinking and I'll get back to you on that!
Okay, I'm gonna have to stick with rap music being my favorite genre to work out to. I don't know if I've got some color in me or if it's just my bootylicious figure but I can sure move to some rap!
So, anything by Sir Mix Alot, that Tootsie Roll song, Destiny's Child and so on!
Okay, I'm not the best person to ask because I never take the time to make playlists, but lately I like to listen to Collective Soul, Seven Year Itch. Some songs are slow, but most have a great pace and get me motivated.
ZZ Top will get your jumping.........
My favorite workout song is Lose My Breath by Destiny's Child (I just like the drum line). Also My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas. Or anything by Gwen Stefani. Oh... and One Girl Revolution by Superchick.
These are really embarrassing. Oh well. I think you're allowed to compromise a little for the sake of working out.
I agree with the fast-paced rap/r and b music! Especially if it's old school rap, Sir-Mix-Alot, Vanilla Ice, Salt N Peppa...
The songs we loved hearing at the skating rink!
Jay-Z, Bruce Springsteen is a classic. But, Beastie Boys can get ya jumpin'
The All-Time Greatest jumpin music would be CC Factory music, old school. ha ha
My list goes as this: I start out with Christian, then Folk, Rap, Rock/Alternative and slow it down with Folk-Acustic music...just some ideas.
Wish we could go running together, then you wouldn't need new songs. Sigh. Instead, I give you some of my favorites that keep me going at the gym ...
Maroon 5 (new CD has a bunch of good ones) ... Makes Me Wonder, If I Never See Your Face, Wake Up Call, Little of Your Time, Kiwi, Can't Stop
Anything JT (as in Justin Timberlake!!!) ... Damn Girl, Sexy Back, Pop (NSYNC)
Nelly Furtado ... Promiscuous, Maneater
Diddy ... Tell Me
Jennifer Lopez ... Let's Get Loud, Get Right
Beyonce ... Crazy In Love
Christina Aguilera ... Ain't No Other Man
Prince ... I Would Die For You
Shakira ... Hips Don't Lie

Oh no ... my iPod battery just died. Oh well, you get this as a start! :-O
I'm not sure if you're into Podcasts, but the Podrunner podcast has some good tempos and you get a new one every week.
Let's not forget my all-time favorite song that gets me pumped up..."Play that Funky Music White Boy." It is a classic. In fact, besides being a great song to exercise to, it proved to be an oh so appropriate song for the father-daughter dance at my wedding! ha!
Foo Fighters - One by One
Just a thought.
nilsa had a great list. i may have to borrow it! black eyed peas always get me moving. and i'm a believer of techno. hehe
