lately

Lately I've been...

...rereading The Good Earth. It's one of my very favorites, but I haven't read it since high school. Reading it now as an adult and a mother gives me a completely different perspective. I don't often reread books, but now I feel like I should go back and rediscover my classic favorites.

...totally addicted to Etsy. For some reason I've allowed myself to get lost there. Not really shopping, more like admiring. Thousands of art galleries stringing from one place. Because of my fondness for all things Chicago, I thought this was pretty neat.

...trying to stay cool. My poor air conditioners are exhausted from the powerful, record-setting heat that keeps trying to force its way in.

...listening to Ray LaMontagne's Empty on repeat.

...spending a good bit of time by myself. Alex has been busy with a project. I miss him.

(Not that anyone cares what I've been doing lately, I've just become too comfortable with ignoring my blog. Trying to get back in the swing of things. )

I care exactly what you are doing. I like to know. What's up with you and Jenny reading my mind lately. I am rereading a book from HS that I wanted a different opinion on as an adult. Have a great trip.

I'm so glad you spent a few minutes thinking about Christy! Not that I don't absolutely love reading about your girls, but you deserve to devote time to yourself, too!

I also loved The Good Earth when I read it in high school. These days, I'm just lucky if I can finish a book at all - for the first time ever, I've been quitting in the middle. Shameful!

I discovered this artist (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5050543) on etsy ... great website for burgeoning artists and entrepreneurs!

I'm bummed when I go to look at your blog and nothing is there and look forward to all of your entries- they make me think, plus I like knowing what's going on in your life.
