She knows where Elly was born. Every time we pass the hospital, she points and lets me know that is where Elly came out of my tummy. I've started telling her about the day she was born. I tell her how she didn't want to come out. I tell her days and days passed and the doctor finally decided it was time for her to be born. I tell her Daddy and I got up very early in the morning and took a taxi to the hospital by the lake in Chicago. I tell her Daddy and I laughed, and joked, and waited, and worried. I tell her Aunt Lauren came to see if Baby Canon had come out yet. I tell her how happy I was to see her the moment she came out of my tummy. I tell her the doctors were worried about her, so I didn't get to hold her for a while. I tell her how it felt when I finally got to hold and kiss her.
I told her that story at bedtime tonight. Then she wanted to hear Alex's version. It was such a wonderful day. I love telling that story.
