1) Last night I made my sister's yummy tropical salsa. The jalapeno burned my hand. This morning when I took a shower, all the pepper juices reignited. It reminded me of the marine I dated briefly in college. He told me about pepper spray training. Not sure if it's true or not, but he told me each year he had to be sprayed in the face....torture training or whatever. He told me the chemicals crystallized and that the shower the next day was always pretty miserable. Then I started to wonder if he is alive. I don't even know if he is still in the military, but I often check the casualty list hoping not to find his name. Or the names of my friends from Navy ROTC. Just one more reason not to cook; making salsa leads to war frustration.
2) I took this picture of a glass of water and wondered how much water I wasted in the process. Still thinking of ways to be more green. Thanks to everyone who offered ideas or suggestions.
3) I cleaned out the refrigerator yesterday and threw away some chicken I had grilled for Canon. As it hit the bottom of the trashcan, I realized that animal had been born and bred for my consumption. It wasn't eaten, instead pieces of its flesh were carelessly tossed in the garbage. A completely wasted life. Last night I dreamt that I ate meat. Somehow I forgot about the whole meat thing and bit into a piece of chicken. Maybe this is more than a phase.
4) While the girls napped today, I looked for houses and jobs in Chicago. I have no idea why.

Wow... you're convicting me about the meat thing! Stop it! My friends already think I'm a freak for my other environmental... isms. I'm pretty sure Becky and my mom would stop talking to me if I stopped eating meat. Actually, Becky did tell me that if I ever stop shaving, she will quit talking to me. I hope to the knee is good enough.
I need to post some more random thoughts as well.
P.S. I'll try to find some poetry to through up there too.
What doesn't lead to thoughts of war frustration these days? If it's not salsa then it's a million other things that I encounter throughout the day reminding me how lucky I am that Andy is home but how worried I am for friends who are over there.
lets all move to chicago
Yes. Let's have Christy & Lindsay and their respective families move back to Chicago! I'll pop for the welcome home, err, I mean welcome back party! :)
