She loves her thumb. Right now it's pretty darn cute (although many, many, many people warn me it will one day be a problem). She has been a thumb-sucker from the first day. When the nurse was making her footprints in the hospital, she sucked her thumb. She falls asleep sucking her thumb. She plays sucking her thumb. Sometimes when I'm nursing, she'll try to sneak her thumb in. But most recently...she has started sucking her thumb during solid meals. She sucks between every single bite. It's like she's taking a drag from a cigarette. And it's only for a brief moment. When the thumb comes out, I know she is ready for another bite. It makes me laugh every time. I'm just writing about it so I don't forget.

loving the thumb

I have pictures of my Ellie sucking her thumb and eating rice cereal at the same time. Now she's almost three and still sucks that thumb =) And I still think it's cute.

I love that she sucks her thumb in between feedings and I love that I've gotten to see it in person. If you lived in Chicago, I would have missed seeing it. #1 reason NOT to move back to Chicago - too far away from me.

I love that picture of Ellie sucking her thumb! The details in the wrinkles of her hands are phenomenal. And problems my butt ... I sucked my fingers until I was well into elementary school. I got braces and it fixed everything. Didn't seem to stop me from talking lots, either. :-) You have a cute kid - she'll be fine when she grows up.
People can make us paranoid about everything! She is too cute!
I was a thumb sucker until I was about 9.
And by then the roof of my mouth was the exact shape and width of my thumb :)
needless to say-- I had to get major braces.
