Canon and Crawly were inseparable for a solid hour. She loved him. Once I didn't see him so I asked where he went. She turned around, and there was Crawly clinging to her neck. They did everything together. They played with Elly, took a tour of the yard, supervised me as I worked, looked for the frog, and tickled each other. Canon found a stick for him to hang on. He dangled from the end while she searched the yard for more bugs. Once when she ran through the grass, Crawly lost his grip. Her heart broke and tears streamed down her face. We looked for Crawly, but he had gone back to find his mommy and daddy. I was sad for her, but so envious of the cares of a child.
We found the frog, by the way.

aww... that's so cute!
Canon is in love with mother nature. Maybe she'll become a botanist or biologist when she's older. Bella is such a girly-girl when it comes to bugs. She likes to admire them from afar, but if they get close to her she starts whinning. You should have seen her face this weekend when she saw a worm for the first time. Her face was curious yet horrified at the same time. Canon needs to show Bella how much fun bugs can be!
I miss the days when worries consisted of a missing catepillar or in Cora's case, not be able to fit all her strawberry puffs in her hand at one time.
