With every breath, she is with me.
Her scent lingers
in the threads of my shirt,
the strands of my hair,
the pores of my skin,
reminding me of the day we shared.
Each whiff ignites a spark in my heart.
My maternal fabric longs
to see her,
to be near her,
to hold her.
With every day she moves closer toward independence.
She will learn to crawl, walk, run.
When she starts to run from me,
I hope her smell will linger still.
Her scent lingers
in the threads of my shirt,
the strands of my hair,
the pores of my skin,
reminding me of the day we shared.
Each whiff ignites a spark in my heart.
My maternal fabric longs
to see her,
to be near her,
to hold her.
With every day she moves closer toward independence.
She will learn to crawl, walk, run.
When she starts to run from me,
I hope her smell will linger still.

Sounds like you are soaking in the indescribable wonderfulness of being a mom. Soak it in and cherish this time with Elly. It's hard to imagine life without our babies. I love being a mother.
I love this poem!
