drawing lesson

During Canon's first six months of life, I spent a great deal of time imagining her future without a father present every day. And though the decision was deeply painful, I packed up the car, put her in her car seat and we left him. The story, of course, has a happy ending. The separation taught us to be better people...to love each other differently....to be happy. That time apart completely changed us; it made us the family we are today.

I have no regrets. I think leaving was the right decision. And I know getting back together was the right decision. This picture reminds me of how much he means to them, how important he is in their lives. This is just the first of many drawing lessons from her very talented father. And though it is a special moment, it doesn't begin to represent all that he gives our girls.

I'm proud of your strength & the ability for you & Alex to learn from your mistakes. You have a stronger marriage today because you chose to make the excruciating decision to leave. Now you are reaping the rewards. Like Jenny said, you are blessed. Love you.

I remember those days of contemplation for you. You made a very difficult choice and it's obvious people are proud of your strength to walk away. You are indeed a strong woman - something I admire in a friend.
